"The Flower Duet" by Léo Delibes, from Student Recital August 2016
Recently found this video from my August 2016 student recital. It's bittersweet, as we lost our friend and accompanist, Lukas Swidzinski, only a few years after this recital (in March 2019). Lukas was an amazing human, a loving and supportive teacher, and a brilliant pianist and accompanist. So grateful to have this video! Brava! to my student Amber Moore for her lovely performance. Rest in peace, Lukas, we miss you! carrieatune.com Voice lessons age 9+ Piano lessons age 5+ In-person (Long Beach, CA) or online Group solo voice classes online ages 7-11 Wed. 11 AM - 12 PM, classes may be added depending upon popular demand! Cailleach (live in Joshua Tree) by Joy Shannon
This is a live video of a new song called "Cailleach", filmed by the illustrious Matt Kollar and featuring the beautiful Amelia Barron singing with me. "Cailleach" takes its inspiration from the ancient Irish myth of the winter goddess, associated with witches and the dark parts of the year. I wrote it during the strange time of the global pandemic, in the spirit of how the Cailleach ruled over times of uncertainty. Lyrics: Witch, which way will the storm blow Where does your hair flow Witch, which way do the birds call Where do your tears fall Here we go round widdershins, round we go Here we ask the Cailleach what she knows Do you want to know? Witch, which way does the spring flow Can these wounds be healed? Witch, which way to the Bullaun Stone Where they say the saint kneeled Here we go round widdershins, round we go Here we ask the Cailleach what she knows Do you want to know?
